Little Diamond Lake trip

Tula and TJ trip No. 3         When I made the reservation, I thought we had spot right on the lake. We didn't but to my surprise we had reserved a "deluxe pull through campsite".  Our very first pull through and what a treat! The site was huge, 2 picnic tables, a large tent pad, space for chairs around a fire pit, and a separate space parking lane along side.  We couldn't have been more pleased, except that we seriously under-utilized the space with just the two if us. The  Little Diamond  lake is more like a marsh with a swimming & fishing area.    We enjoyed the 3/4 mile challenge hike around the lake and the mosquitoes enjoyed me as their 5 pm snack - where did we put that mosquito repellent? We had dinner at Mi Pueblo Mexican restaurant in Priest River Friday night. Breakfast at Audrey's Restaurant on Saturday, enjoyed a trip inside the Cuppa Tea quilting shop in Priest River and then picked up groceries at Super 1 Food market in Old town. No schedule, no

Trip No 2

On our second trip with Tula and TJ we brought Cooper. We had a bit of apprehension as we had not yet emptied out the black or grey water from our last trip, and weren't confident that we had sufficient space in our holding tank for showers.  As it was, our bathtub/shower became our 2nd grey water holding tank before we discovered the light panel that gave an indicator of each tank and battery usage. Fortunately we only hit capacity on the grey water :-) And we learned how to empty the tanks on our way out of Heyburn State Park.  Fresh and clean once again. Cooper was our night time companion. He was so anxious from all the stimulation of new surroundings, new creatures, and lack of his normal creature comforts, we decided we would all sleep better if he had 4 walls with floor and ceiling.  The first night he paced.  The second night, he discovered that our bed extended beyond the frame, and he nestled into our blankets as we let them slip down throughout the night and couldn't

Silver linings

a year ago tomorrow, there was a mix up and I was the last minute driver for four youth on the way to Hoop Fest.  Everyone in our car saw a green light, but others saw it differently.  The Honda Pilot was t-boned and totaled.  Thankfully no one had serious injuries, (though based on the insurance adjudicator comment, the other party claimed significant loss.)  Our four fearless team plus one, coped amazingly considering two passengers had autism, one had a propensity for fainting under stress, and another had a bloody nose. Alas, the team would not make it to play that year, and I committed to never driving to Hoop Fest with 4 excited and somewhat uncoordinated carpool plans every again. The silver lining of this tragedy was a new Honda Ridgeline 2019.  Like the pilot is generous in the cabin, but brings the bonus of truck bed complete with hitch and towing capacity installed. Roomy and practical, with a high safety rating. "Tula" like her name is a gift of strength, and tran
